2026 Vintage Update

2026 Vintage Update

The 2026 vintage is shaping up to be a standout year, and we couldn't be more pleased with how things have unfolded.
The season had a nervy start. A frost event and some hail early on kept us on our toes, but both passed quickly with minimal damage, and from there the vines settled into a long, balanced growing season.

Harvest kicked off on the 13th of March with Pinot Gris, picked at night to hold onto its natural aromatics. Pinot Noir followed on the 17th, showing beautiful colour and fine-grained fruit, with Riesling coming in the next morning, clean, precise, and already looking the part.

Late March brought some rain, which pushed Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay out to the 26th. A little patience was required, but it paid off. Both varieties came in with great concentration and natural acidity. Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon followed on the 7th of April, benefiting from the extended hang time that cool, high-altitude sites can deliver when everything goes right.

In the winery

The whites, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Gris, are being bottled in July. Fresh, aromatic, and built for early drinking.

Chardonnay is sitting in untoasted French oak with full malo and lees stirring underway, building the texture and mid-palate weight we're after.

The reds are looking seriously promising. Shiraz is in toasted French oak, adding spice and structure to what's already a concentrated, layered wine. The Cabernet is the real headline. Double-toasted French oak, notes of coffee and dark chocolate developing, and for the first time in several years the fruit came in above 13.5 Baumé. It's shaping up to be something special.
